Increasing your Organic Traffic

SEO is a long-term, organic strategy that’ll save you money and drive more traffic to your website. It’s a must for businesses with many people hiring an SEO company to improve their digital performance. That said; SEO isn’t the only way to drive traffic. Renting pages that are already ranking for relevant terms is another easy solution – and here’s how to do it.

Rent a page on someone else’s website

One of the best ways to get more eyes on your site is to rent a page on someone else’s website. This might sound bizarre, but it works. To start with, find the terms you want to rank for. Next, head to Google and look for the top ten pages that rank for your target terms. Stick to page one of the SERPs and don’t waste time on page two. When looking for pages, opt for:

  • Someone that isn’t your competitor as they’re unlikely to rent out their site.
  • A page that isn’t monetised (don’t worry if there are ads).
  • A site owned by a smaller company as they’re unlikely to do a deal.

You can then reach out to the site owners, preferably by phone, to propose your business idea. Explain how you’re interested in giving them money each month to rent their page – but be sure to get some key numbers such as how much traffic that page generates and what terms it ranks for.

You can then try to figure out how much each click is worth based on a conversion rate of 5%. So, if 5% converted into a customer, what would the traffic be worth to you? It’s better to be slightly conservative here than to overestimate. You can then run tests for 30 days in order to get a better idea of numbers and to make the site owner a fair offer.

Once all is agreed, you can then start to monetise the page you’re renting. If you’re selling a product, the easiest way to do this is to add links back to the product you’re selling. It’s easy to monetise blog posts by simply linking to your services. Be careful not to delete too much content on the page as this could see a drop in overall rankings. Instead, it’s better to add content.

If you’re a service-based business, try to link to pages where people can fill out their lead information. Or, add lead capturing to the site you’re renting. For example, including an e-book sign-up box with spaces to fill out personal information is a great way to gather leads. Don’t forget to include GDPR disclaimers stating you are collecting such information. Hopefully, the page you are renting will then become profitable and you can agree on a contract arrangement. A period of 12-months is advisable with the option to ‘opt-out’ after 30 days if necessary – in case they lose their rankings.
