Whitefish Marketing are Exhibiting at the Canterbury Business Show

Whitefish Marketing will be at the Canterbury Business Show on Thursday 29 March, talking about all things SEO.

We’ll be helping local businesses get on top of their SEO strategy, advising on which elements of SEO are best done in-house and which should be outsourced, and tackling the subject of those difficult conversations that are sometimes necessary with your incumbent agency.

The event will be held at Spitfire Ground St Lawrence in Canterbury, home to Kent County Cricket Club, and runs from 8.30am-3.30pm.

Before the event

A free breakfast can be pre-booked if you want to start the day with a hearty meal, but if you don’t fancy it we can recommend Lost Sheep Coffee. Don’t let the odd name put you off – it’s an independent place with good service and excellent coffee, and only 20 minutes’ walk up Old Dover Road from the venue. If you’re getting the train to Canterbury East it’s ideal, being only 7 minutes’ walk from the station.

After the event

If you’re waiting for a train following the event or simply want to take the opportunity to look around Canterbury, you can do so easily from the Spitfire Ground. Again, take a stroll northwards up Old Dover Road to get to the city centre, and wander through Dane John Gardens to Castle Row to find Canterbury Castle. It’s situated near Canterbury East, so a five-minute walk will get you to your train after a look round.

Alternatively, if you want to grab a bite to eat or do some shopping after the event, continue from Old Dover Road up Watling Street, with the gardens to your left, to reach the shops and eateries.

About Canterbury

Canterbury is an historic city, having been inhabited since prehistoric times. It’s famous, of course, as a religious destination – the murder of Archbishop Thomas Becket at the cathedral has since drawn countless pilgrims to the area including the characters in Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales. It was also the birthplace of playwright Christopher Marlowe, after whom the theatre is named.

Today it’s a bustling university town, tourist centre and home to many thriving businesses. The Spitfire St Lawrence Cricket Ground is regularly used for first-class cricket, having hosted One Day Internationals and – most notably – an England match during the 1999 World Cup.
